Yerkes Observatory, home to the world’s largest refracting telescope, is an architectural masterpiece on fifty acres of Olmsted-designed grounds. Many of the most influential astronomers in the world have worked here since 1897. Restoration, landscape, and behind-the-scenes tour tickets must be reserved online. Albert Einstein visited.
