Located in Kohler, Wisconsin, the Waelderhaus, or “house in the woods,” honors the architecture of Austria’s Bregenzerwald region. Designed by sculptor Kaspar Albrecht, the building showcases intricate carvings, stained glass, ironwork, and woodcuts. Open daily (except holidays), free guided tours are offered at 2, 3, and 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, though reservations are encouraged for groups over 10. The Waelderhaus stands as a museum of artistry, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage.
